1690: John Locke published An Essay Concerning Human Understanding
1839- Palm reading is revived in the modern era as a form of public psychology by Captain Casimir Stanislas D'Arpentigny publication: La Chirognomie
1879 Leipzig - Wilhelm Wundt opens first lab
1883: Stanley Hall created the first experimental psychology lab in the United States at Johns Hopkins University
1886 - Sigmund Freud started to perform therapy in Vienna, which began personality theory.
1896: Freud coined the term Psychoanalysis
1901- The British Psychological Society was founded.
1904- The frog pistol is invented by Emil Heinrich du Bois-Reymond to show the stimulation of nerves
1907- Freud's ‘Delusions and Dreams in Jensen’s Gradiva’ is published outlining his connection to archaeology
1909: James Watson replaces James Mark Baldwin at John Hopkins after prostitution scandal.
1913: John Watson writes “The Behaviorist Manifesto"
1913 - Mental Deficiency Act was passed.
1938 - Electroconvulsive Therapy is first introduced by Ugo Cerletti and Lucio Bini.
